Self Care

Receiving work with me is just one step in your wellness process.  What you do outside of your sessions will complement the work that we do on the table, whether it is Massage, Reiki, or a combination of modalities.

Soaking in epsom salt is great for after care.  Epsom salt helps the body to resolve lactic acid and stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system.  Epsom salt can also act as a sleep aid, due to the magnesium content.

Stretching is essential as a daily practice.  You should stretch for at least 20 minutes in the morning when you rise, and the evening, before you go to bed.  When you stretch daily, you don't have to stretch the whole body, but focus on the areas you feel need it the most.  This makes the routine more manageable.

Meditation is a great way to calm the body, the mind, and stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system.  Tension is the emotional manifestation of tightness in the body.  YOU are the only one who can release your tension.  As a practitioner of the healing arts, I assist you in this process, but the real work comes from YOU.

Sage, Palo Santo, Crystals are some of the tools you can use to harmonize your home and your personal energy field.  All of these have been used for thousands of years by peoples all over the earth for energetic (spiritual) purposes.  If you ever feel like your space or your field needs an "energetic reset," burn some sage, palo santo, onion skin, garlic skin, frankincense, myrrh, and/or any other essence that you feel called to use.
